question

What modulates our Sun? The majority of science work on the principle that the Sun is self modulating and each solar cycle is a product of a random number generator. There are others that suspect the Sun is modulated by the planets with a special emphasis on Uranus & Neptune. Thanks to Carl Smith who has recently left us we have new knowledge that significantly adds to Jose, Landscheidt & Charvàtovà's work.

Look at how huge this lava flow is! – Video

Fri, 02/03/2017 - 15:48

See the small the boat in the lower left corner of the photo? That gives you an idea of the scale of this monster lava flow.

A couple of days ago I posted a video of a ‘fire hose’ of lava pouring into the Pacific Ocean. Trouble is, that video didn’t have any people or boats in it, so you couldn’t get a handle on just how big the fire hose is.

This video gives you a better view. It shows a steady stream of lava pouring from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano into the Pacific Ocean.

The lava flow began as a drizzle on New Year’s Eve.

I can only imagine how much this is heating the water. According to the USGS, the magma within the Hawaiian volcano of Kilauea can reach 2,120 degrees Fahrenheit (1,160C).

Now imagine a few thousand of such fire hoses pouring into the world’s oceans from underwater volcanoes.

Unprecedented snowfall in West Azerbaijan

Fri, 02/03/2017 - 15:41

See video: For lack of snow shovels, they’re using regular shovels.

Relief work is being conducted in 27 provinces, ie all provinces except Sistan and Baluchestan, Hamedan, South Khorasan and Hormozgan provinces, including 172 towns and villages.
Avalanches of snow in some areas, including Firoozkooh and Haraz road, have killed several.
Also injured was taken to Tehran by ambulance. (..)

In West Azerbaijan, it is a snow record.

According to experts, such snowfall in Urmia in the past 20 years is unprecedented.

The heavy snowfall that started this week in some areas of West Azerbaijan caused heavy blizzards and rural roads have been blocked.

Rationing vegetables in Europe due to snow and cold

Fri, 02/03/2017 - 14:32

Two weeks ago, I warned that the Price of veggies in northern Europe could skyrocket. And that’s exactly what they’re doing. Well, that’s if you consider a tripling in price a problem.

European consumers have been plunged into crisis by a severe vegetable shortage, warns an article today on heatst.com.

Last month, a blast of snow and cold swept across large parts of southern Europe.

As a result, shops across the continent have seen their shelves stripped of green produce like lettuce, broccoli and spinach.

Courgettes (zucchinis), aubergines (eggplant) and peppers have also been badly affected.

In order to obtain these now-rare commodities, importers say they must pay more than triple the usual price.

Some stores have actually started rationing sales.

The problem is particularly acute in the U.K.

“We had snow covering the Greek Islands, we had snow in Italy and we saw that pushing into Spain,” said  BBC weather forecaster Nick Miller.

“Is this an I-told-you-so-moment?” asks Phil.

Don’t say I haven’t been warning you (says Robert).  The day will come when we will be fighting in the streets for food.

The delusional war on warmth

Thu, 02/02/2017 - 18:52

“Warmists are making a massive mistake by assuming that global cooling is better than global warming.” – Viv Forbes

The delusional war on warmth

By Viv Forbes

For decades, global warming scaremongers have been stealing energy from the environment using windmills, solar collectors, and biofuels, force-fed by carbon taxes and emission trading schemes. Their delusional dream is to cool the globe.

However, there has been no global warming for nearly 20 years.  Right now, the great ice sheets are growing thicker, and record snow is blanketing much of the climate change leader, the Northern Hemisphere landmass.  Solar panels are blinded by snow, and turbines don’t turn in the cold still air, or else they have to be shut down because of icing or high winds.  Like all green things, wind and solar power often hibernate in winter.

Meanwhile, the unloved all-weather energy producers (coal, gas, and nuclear) are straining at their limits, as families huddle around heaters fearing the first flickers of failure from overloaded power grids. No food is produced from land smothered in snow – farmers fear late frosts…

Note: Viv Forbes is a geologist who has studied geological and climate history; and a farmer who watches the pastures die in the dry cold winters as the livestock and wildlife wait for the warmer weather and spring storms.

Groundhog predicts 6 more weeks of winter – Video

Thu, 02/02/2017 - 18:07

Oh my gosh, look at the number of people who turned out to watch this.

Believe it or not, literally thousands of people gathered overnight to await Phil’s forecast.

Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com

Punxsutawney Phil, Pennsylvania’s famous furry rodent, has “predicted” six more weeks of winter after seeing his shadow at dawn this morning.

Right about now, I’m thinking that residents of California’s Sierra Nevada may believe it.

This article explains the Punxsutawney Phil tradition, which is based on a German legend surrounding Candlemas:
